    Uvidy is an interactive, online video, ecommerce community where Viewers and Broadcasters alike can come to buy products or services and build relationships.
  • 2. How do I create an account?
    Click ‘Signup,’ enter your desired username, a password, and your email address, agree to the Terms of Service & Privacy Policy, and click ‘Create My Account.’
  • 3. What is a channel?
    A channel is a place where Broadcasters can share videos, photos, and music within the Uvidy community.
  • 4. Who can create a channel?
    Anyone with a talent, skill, or trade to share can create a channel.
  • 5. Why should I create a channel?
    A channel will help turn your talent, skill, or trade into a business, and allow you to interact with Viewers and Broadcasters in the Uvidy community.
  • 6. How do I create a channel?
    Creating a channel is free. Simply apply to become a broadcaster, and once you have been approved you can start broadcasting!
  • 7. If I do not have an Uvidy account, can I still view channels?
    You will be able to view channels, but you will not be able to participate in the chat room or purchase any products or services.
  • 8. What is a Viewer?
    A Viewer is the Uvidy user who does not broadcasts videos or sells products or services. A Viewer can purchase from Broadcasters.
  • 9. What is a Broadcaster?
    A Broadcaster is the Uvidy user who uploads videos, broadcasts live content, and sells products or services. A Broadcaster can sell to Viewers and other Broadcasters.
  • 10. What is One-On-One PPV chat?
    One-On-One Pay Per View chat is a private conversation between two users. The length and price of the chat is determined by the Broadcaster.
  • 11. Does Uvidy take a percentage of my transactions?
    No, Uvidy does not take a percentage of any transactions.

    Broadcasters

  • 1. Can a Broadcaster also be a Viewer?
    Yes! Once you become a Broadcaster, you still have access to other Broadcasters’ videos, photos, and music as a Viewer.
  • 2. What can I use my channel for?
    Anything. The sky is the limit. Show off your talents, help collect donations for charities, connect with your Viewers, build a fan base—you can do it all on your channel.
  • 3. Can I link my channel to my social networking accounts?
    Yes, you can. You can link your channel to Facebook, Twitter, del.icio.us, and Digg. You can also share your site by simply pasting your channel link into any social networking site!
  • 4. Will Uvidy help promote my channel?
    Yes, Uvidy helps promote your channel by providing free Google Optimization, which submits your channel to various search engines, making it easier for people to find you online.
  • 5. How can I get Uvidy to feature my channel?
    Uvidy features five channels on our homepage every month that we feel are making a unique contribution to the Uvidy community. Send us an email with the subject line: ‘Uvidy Monthly 5’ and a brief explanation of why your channel should be considered. You can also be featured on the homepage by obtaining a large following and making the ‘Featured Channels’ list.
  • 6. How can I communicate with a Viewer?
    You can communicate with a Viewer through the real-time chat room, One-On-One PPV chat, and direct messages.
  • 7. Can I communicate with a Viewer ‘one-on-one’?
    Yes, you can communicate with a Viewer through One-On-One PPV chat or direct messages.
  • 8. Can I raise funds for charities and organizations on my channel?
    Yes, Uvidy encourages its Broadcasters to support charities and organizations by bringing awareness through their channels.

    Viewers

  • 1. Can a Viewer have a channel?
    No, in order to have a channel, you must become a Broadcaster. When you sign up as a Viewer, you have the Uvidy Viewer Account.
  • 2. How do I become a Broadcaster?
    Simply apply to become a broadcaster, and once you have been approved by Uvidy, you will be ready to broadcast.
  • 3. How can I communicate with a Broadcaster?
    You can communicate with a Broadcaster through the real-time chat room, One-On- One PPV chat, and direct messages.
  • 4. How do I follow a Broadcaster?
    Log into your Uvidy account, go to the desired Broadcaster’s channel, and click on ‘+ Follow User.’
  • 5. Can I communicate with other Viewers?
    Yes, Viewers can communicate with other Viewers through the real-time chat rooms and direct messages.
  • 6. Can I communicate with a Broadcaster ‘one-on-one’?
    Yes, you can communicate with a Broadcaster through One-On-One PPV chat or direct messages.

    Purchases and Returns

  • 1. How do I tip, donate, or purchase?
    Go to the desired channel and click ‘Donate’ to donate/tip. To purchase a video, go to the ‘Videos’ tab and click ‘Buy’ on the video. To purchase music, go to the ‘Music’ tab and click ‘Buy’ on the song or album.
  • 2. Where can I view my purchases?
    Log in to your Uvidy account and click on ‘Purchased.’
  • 3. Is there a minimum amount I have to charge for my videos?
    No, you can post a video at any price point. You can even post your video at no cost to the Viewers.
  • 4. When a product or service is purchased from my channel, how will I receive the payment?
    Uvidy provides transaction security through PayPal. You will receive all payments to your PayPal account.
  • 5. How do I create a PayPal account?
    Visit www.paypal.com, click ‘Sign Up,’ and follow the on-site instructions.
  • 6. What is Uvidy’s return policy?
    You are not purchasing anything from Uvidy. Uvidy acts as the platform, so all transactions take place between users. Each channel should provide their refund policy. If none is listed, contact the channel host before making any purchases or donations.

    Account Settings

  • 1. How can I change my channel name?
    You cannot change your channel name once your channel has been created. If you have a special circumstance, report it to Uvidy for consideration: support@Uvidy.com
  • 2. How can I change the email address associated with my account?
    Email support@Uvidy.com with any email changes. Because your email is connected through PayPal, all changes must be made through Uvidy.
  • 3. How do I change my profile picture?
    Click on ‘My Account,’ click on ‘Profile Photo,’ and upload a new file. All files must be 160x160 pixels or larger.
  • 4. How do I receive the Uvidy newsletter?
    Log in to your Uvidy account and check the box next to ‘YES - Receive Newsletter’ under ‘Account Info.’
  • 5. What happens if I forget my Username?
    Click ‘Login,’ click ‘Forgot Username/Password,’ enter your email address, and your Username will be emailed to you.
  • 6. What happens if I forget my Password?
    Click ‘Login,’ click ‘Forgot Username/Password,’ enter in your Username, and your Password will be emailed to you.
  • 7. How do I delete my account?
    Email support@Uvidy.com to delete your account.

    Before You Begin

  • 1. What is crowd-funding?
    Crowd-funding is when money is raised to support a project, cause, or charity.
  • 2. What is a project?
    A project is anything that needs funding. Projects can range from a band looking to raise money to go on tour, an individual who wants to raise money for a relief fund, to a baker who wants to open up his/her own shop.
  • 3. Who can start a project?
    Any Uvidy Broadcaster can start a project on their channel.
  • 4. Will it cost money to start a project?
    No, it does not cost anything to start a project.
  • 5. Is a crowd-funding goal required?
    No, you can raise funds without a goal. Although, a goal helps motivate users to donate.
  • 6. What can I offer as a reward?
    There are many things that can be offered as a reward. Some examples include: a signed t-shirt/poster, a couple tickets to a live performance, stationary that promotes the cause or charity, etc. Be creative—get your backers involved. (See below for the restrictions on rewards.)
  • 7. Are there any restrictions on what I can offer as a reward?
    Yes, the following cannot be offered as a reward: o Adult Oriented Products and Services o Alcohol o Credit Services o Drugs o Firearms and Weapons o Illegal, Inappropriate or Offensive Items or Activities o Miracle Cure Products o Tobacco Products For a full list, see Amazon's Prohibited Items and Activities by clicking here.
  • 8. Do I need to provide rewards to those who fund my project?
    No, but rewards are a great incentive to get backers to fund your project, cause, or charity. It keeps them involved and interested. For example, if you were a baker raising money to start your own shop, you could offer to name a cookie after anyone that donated more than $100.
  • 9. Can I run multiple projects?
    Yes, as long as the projects differ in nature. If they are similar, you must send an email to support@Uvidy.com for approval. (eg: Raising funds for Boys and Girls Club LA and Boys and Girls Club SD.)
  • 10. Does Uvidy take a percentage of the funds raised?
    No, Uvidy does not take any percentage of the funds raised.

    Once You’ve Started

  • 1. How do I change my crowd-funding goal?
    Log in to your Uvidy account, go to ‘My Account’ and edit your tab details. Feel free to enter daily, weekly and monthly goals.
  • 2. What happens if I raise more than my crowd-funding goal?
    Excellent! You have not only raised your goal amount, you have exceeded it!
  • 3. Is there a maximum amount of funds that can be raised?
    No.
  • 4. Can I see the users who have funded my project?
    Yes, you can see the users who have funded your project in real-time under the ‘Donors’ heading.
  • 5. How can I communicate with the users who are funding my project?
    You will have access to the email addresses of every user who has funded your project. You can also communicate with them on the spot through the real-time chat room.
  • 6. Can I cancel my project?
    Yes, but you will be responsible for returning the funds that have been collected since the project began.

    Funding a Project

  • 1. What are the benefits of funding a project?
    You can contribute to the success of an individual you believe in, donate to a cause you feel strongly about, or support a charity that is making a difference in the world.
  • 2. How do I communicate with the user who created the project?
    You can communicate with the user who created the project through the real-time chat room.
  • 3. How can I receive rewards for donating?
    The person who created the project will dictate who will receive rewards. Contact the user to find out what you can do.
  • 4. How can I check on the progress of the project I have donated to?
    Go to the channel that started the project, check under the heading ‘Donations/Tips,’ and you will see a bar showing where progress is in relation to goal. You can also see ‘Currently,’ for the dollar amount that has been raised to date.
  • 5. What happens to the money I donated if the project is canceled?
    The user who canceled the project will be held responsible for returning funds to those who have donated. Contact the appropriate channel host.
